I am a qualified Personal Trainer + Fitness Instructor based in North Sheffield - I teach 

a variety of classes and programmes both in the community and online!

PROFILE - HELEN MILNES


I started my fitness career over 20 years ago! I have always been interested in all types of health and fitness and have attended exercise classes from an early age.  
I now teach classes in and around Chapeltown, Highreen & Burncross - Check out my current timetable for class details.


My aim is to bring exercise to the community to give people the opportunity to get active and stay healthy in a way that is both affordable and effective but most importantly to enjoy it!  For those who prefer to exercise at home, I have a variety of workouts and programmes for you to access online. 

I am a dedicated fitness professional, and I firmly believe that my expertise, motivation and inspiration can be used to help you achieve your health and fitness goals.

After qualifying as a group fitness instructor in 2002 I have never looked back and I am committed to continuing with my professional development and constantly attend workshops and training courses so I can give my clients the latest and most up to date information so I can help them achieve their goals.

PERSONAL TRAINING


Do you need a few sessions to get you started or do you need continued support and motivation.


Your personal training sessions will be structured according to the goals you want to achieve, your fitness levels, the time you have available and your budget. I will even design you an exercise programme to follow when you are not training with me to keep you on track to achieving your goals.

The more exercise becomes part of your daily lifestyle the more you will reap the benefits, not only looking better but feeling better too!

What happens?


Before your first session we shall meet for a consultation to discuss your goals, other commitments you have and what you wish to achieve. At this point we will also cover any medical issues you may have, advice on healthy eating and have a general chat about what is involved. There is no obligation to commit to any sessions after the consultation if you decide that Shape-n-Tone Fitness is not for you.

During your first personal training session there will be a number of initial fitness assessments but don´t worry as these will allow me to plan your goals and assess your current levels of fitness. Following this I will perform review sessions on a monthly basis to ensure you are on track to achieving your goals and to monitor progress.

I am currently only taking bookings for personal training via zoom.  If you prefer face to face training then please message me for a price.

1:1 Training - £30 - 45 Minutes Or £15 for 30 minutes 
1:2 Training - £40 - 45 minutes Or £30 for 30 minutes - Train with a partner or friend and split the cost.

An extra charge may be made for travelling expenses if outside of Sheffield

 LIFT LEAN

This is a strength and resistance programme aimed at everyone but especially WOMEN around menopausal age.  Do you need help with mid section weight gain? Want to get your confidence back and feel good about yourself? Join the next programme!!


The programme currently runs online in a private Facebook group.  I run these programmes from 21 day (3 weeks) to 42 days (6 weeks)  Message me if you would like the start date for the next 'Lift Lean' programme!

In the group you will get a daily, 30 minute workout (Monday to Friday) for you to do whenever you can fit it into your lifestyle. It is a different workout every day and all workouts are time efficient and effective!  The workouts stay in the group so you can access them at any time throughout the programme so you can repeat them or do them on catch up at the weekend! 

Along with these you will get nutrition advice and recipes, tips on building in healthy habits to your current lifestyle and making healthy choices.  The groups are only small with people who all have similar goals and targets whether it is a weight loss or a fitness goal so the group will keep you accountable and I will be there to motivate you and keep you going. 

I will help you set goals and targets and be on hand to give advice and answer any questions throughout.

MENO FIT

This is a programme to help and support all women whether post or peri menopausal and beyond.  It is all about making small lifestyle changes to help minimise menopausal symptoms.  Learn how a healthy lifestyle, nutrition and movement can significantly improve your wellbeing both physically and mentally.

Not everyone can commit to joining gyms, attending classes or even commit to a 30 minute online workout but this Menofit programme promotes building in 15 minutes of daily movement into your lifestyle.  This could be: Indoor walking, low impact intervals, seated fitness, mobility and stretch, gentle Pilates, resistance band or a dumbell workout.

15 minutes should be a manageable time to commit each day to improve your health and fitness.

The monthly subscription to access my 'Menofit VIP Members Area' is £8 and in there you will find 6 different 15 minute workouts each month.

There are currently over 34 different menopause symptoms  - You may not have any, you may have them all.  If you would like to come along to one of my face to face 'Menofit Meet Ups' and listen to a different talk/discussion on a menopause related subject then the next meet up is - Tuesday 17th October at Burncross Community Centre - 7:30 - 8:30pm.  

Why not come along and meet other women and share tips, advice and join in 15 minutes of movement! 

Over the coming months, the monthly meet ups will cover topics on:

Nutrition - What to eat. The key foods and making healthy choices. Importance of protein, portion size, unnecessary snacking. Sugary foods, carbs, good fats.  Emotional eating. Calories counting and tracking. 

Hydration. Supplements/Medication. Joint pain. Weight gain. Sleep. Stress management. Pelvic floor and bladder issues and much more.

Seasonal Candlelight Relaxation Classes

(run October to March only)

These classes run monthly and are gentle Pilates combined with mobility and stretch all by candlelight to relaxing music.

Pilates


A gentle, low impact but full body strength workout which will improve flexibility and mobility and build core strength. Concentrating on balance and postural alignment whilst focusing on breathing, de- stressing and relieving the mind and body of any tension whilst stretching and relaxing.


Shape-n-Tone Pilates 

* Booking required for this class

This class is a combination of conditioning exercises using small hand weights (provided) and Pilates. It is again low impact but has the benefits of strength training and challenging the body and muscles using the weights. The class gives a full body workout and finishes with 10 minutes of relaxation and stretch.


Total Body Workout


It does what it says! A class combining aerobics and cardiovascular exercise with conditioning work using resistance bands. It will burn calories and fat as well as tone the whole body. The final 15 minutes of the class is usually on the mat working your core and mid section followed by stretch.

Resistance bands are supplied however I have a supply for sale if you wish to purchase and use your own. 

Classes are suitable for all ages and abilities, minimum age 14. 

All exercises and choreography is easy to follow and can be adapted so everyone can work at their own level.


Please wear comfortable clothing and trainers.
 For Pilates you will need either bare feet or wear grippy/ non slip socks.

I hold a current First aid qualification and am fully insured by FitPro. I hold a PPL licence with Pure Energy which enables me to play music legally in
a public setting.
